What are Google up to? No Title or Snippet showing in SERPs

Posted on | April 2, 2010 | 3 Comments

Just when I thought it was safe I see that Google are playing tricks again.

After doing a search for ‘domestic staff agency’ in Google.co.uk (web) I was presented with a list of results that showed 8 ‘normal’ listings and two that were just a url. No meta title or snippet as you can see below:

Google SERPs

I haven’t managed to replicate it yet with other search terms. Has anyone else noticed this happening?

looks like the website had added a block in the robots.txt, even if you block with robots.txt google will still show the URL as they have linking pointing to the URL but can’t create a description due to the block.

No block that I’m aware of John. I know the owner of the site. Don’t believe the robots have been touched for some time.
